Writing Aids

Hello, all. I don’t believe I’ve ever tried this before, but recently I’ve been on the hunt for two seperate things that I can’t seem to find anywhere. Both a character sheet that is in depth enough for my purposes, as well as some guide to hell me outline the details of each race in my Nightlife series. Neither of which I really can find, dispite how much I’ve been looking.

In regards to the first, I’ve taken it upon myself to make the ultimate character sheet, compiling together the two dozen someodd character sheets and questions I’ve found online to make my Ultimate Character Sheet, which is currently about two pages long – and I started it yesterday. It will be six by the time I’m finished, in my estimate, and that’ll be relatively soon, hopefully. It’s release on this page should take another week or so, but it will be put up here.

EDIT: I finished the Ultimate Character Creation Sheet, in less time than I would have thought too. It was mad fun, and I’m hoping incredibly useful. But because I’ve read others complaining at the lack of depth of other character sheets, I’m going to post it up here. Hopefully this page can be found on Google. In any case, good luck with the writing. I hope the thing helps.

  3. I have done something like this too. A great tool especially when you have lots of characters in the story. Nice work

  4. I love the look of this character sheet, and I had never heard of it until I got an email from Hallie Chandler’s blog. I think this could really help me out, but I am curious as to what all the personal questions are for? Don’t I already know those kinds of things about me? Is it supposed to help me make a better character?

Can’t wait to use this for some of the things I’m working on.

Thank you for using it. I was always pissed off that nothing online had the amount of detail I usually am looking for.
The Personal Questions section isn’t referring to you – it’s stuff about your character that isn’t as fun to do in first person. Like a birth certificate, almost. Stuff you’re going to have to refer to occasionally during the story. It was meant as a quick at-a-glance block of info on whichever character the worksheet was meant for.

Thank you for creating this. I would like to do a similar idea, only with checkboxes, radio buttons, and questions that need short answers. Still same level of detail. I have also thought of writing the character’s resume.

That’d be awesome. I’d really like to see it if you do. I’m a big fan of check boxes, they make everything easier. 🙂

  6. I love, love, LOVE this character sheet! The detail is fantastic. I linked to your page in the description of my vlog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3ST9wZgvKw&list=HL1349805304&feature=mh_lolz
Thanks so much for posting! I will definitely be using this for my NaNoWriMo characters.
